Believers are assured that when they face problems and challenges, solution had been made to cater for them. These things I have spoken to you, that in Me you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulation: but be of good cheer, I have overcome the world (Jn. 16:33).

Our Redeemer knows we will be faced with challenges, and had in advance, made a way out (Heb. 4:15-16). When Jesus Christ faced unpleasant situations, He was always calm because He knew His Father was with Him in every situation.

We are expected to be like Him in all things. With the knowledge of the readymade solution to our challenges in life, our words should always be, “It is well.” We should have the confidence that He is with us to the end, as He promised.

King Jehoshaphat was challenged by the might of his enemy. He felt not threatened because he knew Him to be the faithful God who will always do what He says. He and his countrymen believed God and were not terrified by the undoubtedly greater strength of their enemies, but persuaded by what God said.

When believers feel isolated, alone and abandoned, even by our very best friends, God sees, understand, thinks, and cares for us. He keeps us in His thought and His help is very near. God wants believers to take courage because of the inevitable struggles they would face, they will not be alone. He will be with them in whatever they may face here on earth.

The Shunemite was a woman faced with the worst of situations. Yet, her response was “It is well.” A song reads, “When peace like a river attendeth my way; When sorrows like sea billions roll; whatever my lot, Thou hast taught me to know, it is well, it is well with my soul.”
