Today’s Scripture: Even when there was no reason for hope, Abraham kept hoping—believing that he would become the father of many nations.
Romans 4:18, NLT

JOEL OSTEEN DAILY DEVOTIONAL 2 AUGUST 2020

MESSAGE:

When God gave Abraham a promise that he and his wife, Sarah, were going to have their “very own son” (see Genesis 15), she was seventy-five years old. It was impossible. It had never happened before.

JOEL OSTEEN DAILY DEVOTIONAL 2 AUGUST 2020

Abraham could have thought, I must have heard God wrong. But Scripture says that when all human reason for hope was gone, Abraham hoped on in faith, knowing that God is a supernatural God. Sarah was over ninety years old when she gave birth to a child. There were plenty of times when they were tempted to think, It’s never going to happen. We’re too old. If they would have believed those lies, they would have drifted into doubt and never seen the promise come to pass.

There may be many reasons why your situation will never work out. But you have to do as Abraham did—hope on in faith. What God promised you, He’s still going to bring to pass.

PRAYER FOR TODAY:

“Father, thank You that because You are supernatural, I can hope on in faith even when I can find no other reason for hope. I trust that what I’m experiencing is going to work for my good. Thank You that what You promised me is going to come to pass. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.”

Joel osteen ministries believe that : the entire Bible is inspired by God, without error and the authority on which we base our faith, conduct and doctrine.

…in one God who exists in three distinct persons: Father, Son and Holy Spirit. We believe Jesus Christ is the Son of God who came to this earth as Savior of the world.

…Jesus died on the cross and shed His blood for our sins. We believe that salvation is found by placing our faith in what Jesus did for us on the cross. We believe Jesus rose from the dead and is coming again.

…water baptism is a symbol of the cleansing power of the blood of Christ and a testimony to our faith in the Lord Jesus Christ.

…in the regular taking of Communion as an act of remembering what the Lord Jesus did for us on the cross.

…every believer should be in a growing relationship with Jesus by obeying God’s Word, yielding to the Holy Spirit and by being conformed to the image of Christ.

…as children of God, we are overcomers and more than conquerors and God intends for each of us to experience the abundant life He has in store for us.
