BIBLE PASSAGE: Job 1:13-22 KJV

RCCG Sunday School Student Manual 14 June 2020

13 And there was a day when his sons and his daughters were eating and drinking wine in their eldest brother’s house:

14 And there came a messenger unto Job, and said, The oxen were plowing, and the asses feeding beside them:

15 And the Sabeans fell upon them, and took them away; yea, they have slain the servants with the edge of the sword; and I only am escaped alone to tell thee.

16 While he was yet speaking, there came also another, and said, The fire of God is fallen from heaven, and hath burned up the sheep, and the servants, and consumed them; and I only am escaped alone to tell thee.

17 While he was yet speaking, there came also another, and said, The Chaldeans made out three bands, and fell upon the camels, and have carried them away, yea, and slain the servants with the edge of the sword; and I only am escaped alone to tell thee.

18 While he was yet speaking, there came also another, and said, Thy sons and thy daughters were eating and drinking wine in their eldest brother’s house:

19 And, behold, there came a great wind from the wilderness, and smote the four corners of the house, and it fell upon the young men, and they are dead; and I only am escaped alone to tell thee.

20 Then Job arose, and rent his mantle, and shaved his head, and fell down upon the ground, and worshipped,

21 And said, Naked came I out of my mother’s womb, and naked shall I return thither: the LORD gave, and the LORD hath taken away; blessed be the name of the LORD.

22 In all this Job sinned not, nor charged God foolishly.

INTRODUCTION:

A wounded soldier can be described as a Christian who has been a victim of unfavourable circumstances of life, trails of faith or satanic attacks, sometimes, as a result of carelessness, sin or unexplainable factors, leaving such Christian with a wounded spirit.

Sometimes, a wounded spirit comes to a result of a reaction to negative words, event, action or a violation of one’s person or rights. It generates a reactions that crushes one, knocks one down, from which one cannot seem to rise. Hence, such a Christian needs divine healing in order to stand and fight on, as a soldier of Christ.

2. WHAT TO DO IF ARE WOUNDED

Trace the source of the wound and be courageous to face the pain.

Deal with the root of the wound, not just the symptoms (Job 2:7; Luke 4:5-8).

Stand your ground and be ready to engage in spiritual warfare by putting on the whole armour of God (Ephesians 6:10-11).

Repent in areas where sin has caused the damage and make up your mind to live holy (Proverb 28:13; James 5:16).

Shun unbelief or doubt.

Believe that Jesus really wants and desires to heal you cry unto Him (James 1:6; Psalm 50:15; Jeremiah 8:22).

Avoid negative people and abusive relationships (1Corinthains 15:33; 2Corithains 6:14).

Avoid impulsive decisions, take comfort and strength in God’s word (1Kings 19:4; 2Kings 2:23-24; 2Kings 6:25-29).

Forgive any human agent you can trace as the cause of the wound, forgive yourself also and be ready to let go (Job 42:10; Ephesians 4:32).

Afterward, watch against further attacks (1Peter 5:8).

RCCG Sunday School 14 June 2020 HYMN

O Sunday School, on the Lord’s day,
O how I love Thee well,
I am happy, it makes me glad
To rejoice at Thy birth.

O Sunday School, on the Lord’s day, Thy friendship suits me well,
Both young and old will sing Thy song,
We long for Sunday School.

O Sunday School, on the Lord’s day,
Christ was Thy first teacher,
The Holy Spirit, great teacher,
Does manifest in thee.

O Sunday School, on the Lord’s day,
This testimony is sure,
That God, the Father Almighty,
Poured His blessing on Thee.

O Sunday School, on the Lord’s day,
Though the sun be so bright,
Or if the clouds black with rain,
I’ll be in Sunday School.

O Sunday School, on the Lord’s day,
I rejoice to see Thee,
Will thou pass over me today?
Without my being blest?
