TOPIC: Be Joyful – By David Ibiyeomie
Psalm 100: 1-3 -Make a joyful noise unto the LORD, all ye lands. 2 Serve the LORD with gladness: come before his presence with singing. 3 Know ye that the LORD he is God: it is he that hath made us, and not we ourselves; we are his people, and the sheep of his pasture.
One of the greatest assets to fulfilment in life is joy. When you are joyless, you will be helpless. There are people who are always downcast and they complain about everything in life. They allow the challenges of life to weigh them down.
The truth is that until you are joyful, God will not step in. It takes a joyful, moral-boosted lifestyle to have outstanding mark on earth. Don’t allow the circumstances of life to weigh you down.
Hab.3:17-18 -Although the fig tree shall not blossom, neither shall fruit be in the vines; the labour of the olive shall fail, and the fields shall yield no meat; the flock shall be cut off from the fold, and there shall be no herd in the stalls: 18 Yet I will rejoice in the LORD, I will joy in the God of my salvation.
Material things like cars you have not driven or clothes you have not worn ought not to affect your mood. A joyful man is an ever-winning, never-failing child of God because he has access to the limitless benefits of redemption which no devil can stop.
Isaiah 12:3 -Therefore with joy shall ye draw water out of the wells of salvation.
The above scripture reveals that you cannot draw anything from salvation if you lack joy. Salvation encompasses everything like deliverance, healing, prosperity, etc; they are all in Salvation but God wants you to have Joy to enjoy all these redemptive benefits. Joy is the link between you and the blessing. If you must be blessed, then, you must be joyful. I see you have a testimony in the name of Jesus!
If you praise God with a heart full of joy, it provokes God to come down in the midst of your praise.
Luke 2:10-11 -And the angel said unto them, Fear not: for, behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy, which shall be to all people. 11 For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Saviour, which is Christ the Lord.
The coming of Jesus Christ was proclaimed as the introduction of joy to the world. Therefore, when you receive Jesus into your life as your Lord and Saviour, you become an embodiment of good tidings and great joy. This means that anyone without Christ can never have joy; joy is only for the children of God. A sinner can have happiness which is stirred up only by temporary events but joy comes from Jesus Christ.
Gal.5:22 -But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith,
One of the proofs that the Spirit of God has come alive in you through redemption in Christ is the ability to bear fruits and one of the fruits of the Spirit is Joy.
Heb.12:2 -Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God.
Joy makes you see ahead. May the joy of the Lord change your story forever! Longsuffering means having the grace to endure towards a set goal because of the joy that awaits you. It is joy unspeakable, full of glory because there is no physical reason around you that should make you glad but you are till joyful. Get to a point in your life that any time things are not working around you, you should blame yourself and not God because God can never be at fault.
If joy is not flowing from you heart, it means a part of your heritage is Christ is missing. So, you must consciously generate joy in order to enjoy all the benefits of redemption. To be joyless is to be lifeless; only excited people excel and Jesus is the fountain of joy
Look away from the failures of the past. Don’t be distracted by the concerns of today; focus on a colorful tomorrow and you will never be cast down. Relax yourself because your future is bright.
I pray for you today: I curse every spirit of heaviness in your life and I cast it out! I command from today, may the garment of praise be upon you in the name of Jesus –Amen!!!
God bless you
